A glove discovered approximately two miles from the residence of Savannah Guthrie’s mother in Tucson has been linked to a masked individual seen outside her home the night she disappeared, the FBI reported on Sunday. The glove, found in a field adjacent to a road, underwent DNA testing. Preliminary results were received by the FBI on Saturday, although official confirmation remains pending. The investigation into the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie is now entering its third week as authorities continue gathering evidence. Previously, no suspect had been identified.

On Sunday evening, Savannah Guthrie took to Instagram, appealing to those involved in her mother’s disappearance or anyone with knowledge of her whereabouts. “It is never too late to do the right thing,” Guthrie said. “And we are here. And we believe in the essential goodness of every human being, that it’s never too late.”

Nancy Guthrie, 84, was last observed at her Arizona home on January 31 and was reported missing the following day. Blood traces were discovered on her front porch. Ransom notes purportedly connected to the case were sent to media outlets, but deadlines for payment have passed without incident.

This revelation follows the release of surveillance footage by law enforcement showing a masked figure outside Guthrie’s home. The porch camera recorded a person wearing a ski mask, long pants, jacket, and gloves, carrying a backpack.

On Thursday, the FBI labeled the masked individual a suspect, describing him as a man around 5 feet, 9 inches tall with a medium build, carrying a 25-liter “Ozark Trail Hiker Pack” backpack.

Late Friday night, authorities closed off a road approximately two miles from Guthrie’s home as part of the investigation. Numerous sheriff’s and FBI vehicles, including forensic units, passed through the barricade. Investigators also impounded a Range Rover SUV from a nearby restaurant parking lot, confirming its connection to the Guthrie case, though no arrests were made.

Earlier in the week, sheriff deputies stopped a man for questioning during a traffic stop south of Tucson. Although they did not disclose why the man was stopped, authorities confirmed his release. On the same day, a court-authorized search was conducted in Rio Rico, about an hour south of Tucson.

Concerns for Nancy Guthrie’s health have been raised as she requires essential daily medication. According to audio from a sheriff’s dispatcher, she has a pacemaker and suffers from high blood pressure and heart issues.

Initially, investigators collected DNA from Nancy Guthrie’s property that did not match her or anyone closely associated with her. Efforts are ongoing to determine the identity of the DNA source. Additionally, the FBI noted that around 16 gloves were found near the house, most of which were discarded by search teams.
