President Trump Declares “Golden Age of America” in 2026 State of the Union Address
President Donald Trump delivered his State of the Union address on February 24, 2026, highlighting significant national achievements and milestones as the United States approaches its 250th anniversary of independence. Addressing Vice President Vance, Speaker Johnson, and other dignitaries, Trump proclaimed the nation to be “bigger, better, richer, and stronger than ever before.”
The President reflected on his administration’s accomplishments over the past year, including securing the U.S. border, reducing inflation, and revitalizing the economy. Trump emphasized that the border is now the most secure in American history, with zero illegal aliens admitted in the past nine months. Additionally, he reported a 56% decrease in deadly fentanyl crossing the border.
Highlighting economic improvements, Trump noted gasoline prices had plummeted to below $2.30 a gallon in most states, with some areas seeing prices as low as $1.85. The administration’s efforts have also led to a decrease in the murder rate, marking the largest decline in recorded history, and a substantial reduction in core inflation to 1.7% in the last quarter of 2025.
Trump celebrated the stock market’s success, with 53 all-time record highs since his election, boosting American pensions and retirement accounts. He also announced $18 trillion in new investment commitments from global investors, contrasting this with the previous administration’s record.
The President lauded the creation of 70,000 new construction jobs and an increase in American oil production by over 600,000 barrels per day. He attributed these achievements to his policies of cutting regulations and promoting American energy independence.
In addition to economic achievements, Trump highlighted legislative victories, such as tax reforms and the introduction of Trump Accounts, tax-free investment accounts for children. He also called on Congress to support initiatives like the SAVE America Act, aimed at preventing illegal voting and reinforcing voter ID laws.
The President addressed the nation’s foreign policy successes, including the end of eight wars and significant reductions in military conflicts. He reaffirmed the U.S. military’s strength and the ongoing commitment to peace through strength.
Recognizing individual bravery, Trump honored military and civilian heroes, including the U.S. men’s Olympic hockey team and various military personnel awarded for valor. The address concluded with a focus on preserving American values and preparing for a future where the nation continues to lead globally.
As the nation prepares for its 250th year, President Trump emphasized the enduring spirit of American independence and progress, declaring that the “golden age of America” is upon us.
