Project 2025’s Architect Open to Rejoining Trump Administration

Paul Dans, a key figure behind the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025, has expressed willingness to join the Trump administration despite public backlash that led to his departure. In a recent interview with Politico, Dans reflected on his exit and noted the project’s implementation under President Trump.

Dans described the project’s progression as “way beyond my wildest dreams,” acknowledging challenges ahead, including opposition from the “deep state.” He praised the project’s ability to disrupt established norms and capture public imagination, suggesting a promising future.

Despite asserting that Project 2025 was crafted independently of Trump, Dans admitted that both share similar directions. He emphasized that the project was meant for any conservative leader but noted, “Trump is seizing every minute of every hour.”

The project became a focal point during the 2024 presidential campaign, with Democrats cautioning against its agenda. Despite attempts to distance from Project 2025, Trump clarified his non-involvement. Dans suggested that misinformation played a role in the project’s politicization.

As the face of Project 2025, Dans faced criticism and resigned from Heritage in July. He later voiced disapproval of Trump campaign advisers Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita, citing “malpractice.”

When asked about his critical remarks, Dans quoted Frank Sinatra, “regrets I’ve had a few, but then again, too few to mention.” He remarked on the futility of countering misinformation and praised Trump’s communication prowess.

Dans remains open to future involvement, stating, “should President Trump or his team need me, I will gladly answer the call.” He emphasized the ongoing nature of political endeavors, suggesting aspirations to return to public service.
