(Liberty Shield Network) –
For many veterans and first responders, the end of active duty marks the beginning of a new challenge: navigating civilian life without the structure, routine, and clear mission they once relied on. A nonprofit organization based in Minnesota is working to ease that transition by combining outdoor experiences with comprehensive support services.
Roger Up offers veterans and first responders opportunities to reconnect with peers and regain perspective through activities such as fishing, hiking, and snowmobiling. These outings serve not only as recreational breaks but also as opportunities for reflection, camaraderie, and mental reset.
Beyond outdoor programs, Roger Up provides an array of practical support services aimed at addressing some of the most common challenges faced after service. These include health and addiction planning, therapy resources, coaching, job support, financial counseling, and assistance with daily living needs.
The organization takes its name from a familiar military term — “Roger Up” — signaling readiness and resilience. Its mission is to help participants recharge and regain a sense of purpose as they build their post-service lives.
While based in Minnesota, Roger Up’s approach reflects a growing movement across the country focused on providing holistic support to those who have served. The combination of outdoor engagement and real-life resources aims to address both the emotional and practical aspects of post-service adjustment.
