Florida Woman Arrested Following Gunshots at Rihanna’s Los Angeles Residence
A woman from Florida, Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, aged 35, was apprehended after she allegedly fired gunshots at the Los Angeles home of renowned singer Rihanna. The incident occurred while 10 individuals were reportedly inside the property. Ortiz is slated for a court appearance on Tuesday afternoon, though formal charges have not yet been laid, as authorities continue to review the case.
The Los Angeles Police Department reported that Ortiz was detained on Sunday afternoon in the Beverly Hills area, where a firearm was also recovered. No injuries were reported from the incident. However, Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell confirmed to the media that the property is owned by Rihanna and that 10 people were present during the shooting. It remains undisclosed whether Rihanna, her partner A$AP Rocky, or their children were among those inside.
Authorities suspect that Ortiz traveled from Florida to Los Angeles, though the timing of her arrival is unclear. Public records list her most recent residence in Orlando. Currently, Ortiz is being held with a bail set at $10.2 million. Investigators have not disclosed any potential connections between Ortiz and Rihanna.
It is uncertain whether Ortiz has legal representation at this time. Attempts to reach her via a listed phone number and email were unsuccessful. Similarly, the public defender’s office has not provided a response. The Associated Press has also reached out to Rihanna’s publicist and manager for comments.
Local news outlet KABC-TV aired footage showing what appeared to be five bullet holes in the front gate of the residence. Additionally, police dispatch audio reportedly captured 10 shots being fired.
This incident comes after a previous security breach in 2018, when a man unlawfully entered another of Rihanna’s homes in Hollywood Hills, staying for 12 hours. The man later pleaded no contest to charges of stalking, vandalism, and resisting arrest and received a probation sentence.
