Cher’s Son Faces Legal Troubles in New Hampshire
Elijah Allman, the 49-year-old son of famed entertainer Cher and the late musician Gregg Allman, is due in court on Wednesday following allegations of a break-in at a residence in Windham, New Hampshire earlier this month.
This marks Allman’s second arrest in New Hampshire within a short span. On March 1, he was detained for allegedly entering a home without permission. Just days prior, on February 27, he was arrested for reportedly causing a disturbance at a well-known prep school in Concord.
Authorities have charged Allman with two counts of criminal mischief, burglary, and breach of bail conditions for the March 1 incident. Rockingham County Department of Corrections Superintendent Jonathan Banville confirmed that Allman remains in custody.
There are currently no indications of Allman’s connection to the Windham property. According to a police report, Allman forcefully entered the home without proper authorization.
At St. Paul’s School, Allman allegedly posed as the parent of a potential student, entering the dining hall and causing disturbances. As a result, he faces charges of simple assault, criminal trespass, and criminal threatening. Additionally, he was cited for disorderly conduct, a non-criminal violation in New Hampshire. Following these charges, Allman was released on bail.
Attempts to reach Allman for comment were unsuccessful, and there is no confirmation of his legal representation in court filings.
In December 2023, Cher sought a temporary conservatorship over her son’s financial affairs, citing his mental health and addiction issues as concerning factors. She expressed worries about his ability to manage funds from a trust, fearing they might be misused, further jeopardizing his well-being. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Jessica Uzcategui denied Cher’s request, noting the lack of immediate necessity for such measures. Allman was present at the hearing, with his legal team acknowledging past challenges but emphasizing his ongoing recovery efforts and reconciliation with his wife.
