New Video Footage Potentially Implicates Chesebro and Kelly in 2020 Fake Elector Scheme
Security videos from January 5, 2021, have surfaced, showing attorney Kenneth Chesebro and Trump campaign aide G. Michael Brown handing off fake elector documents to two aides from the office of Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA).
The video supports Chesebro’s admission in a text message on January 6, where he acknowledged delivering fake elector documents to Kelly’s aides the previous day.
Released by Congressional Republicans, the security footage also captures two of Kelly’s aides taking the falsified records to the Senate Parliamentarian’s office. However, Senate Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough rejected the documents, leaving the aides unsure of their next steps. This uncertainty led them to reach out to a top aide to then-Vice President Mike Pence in a final attempt to submit the documents, hoping Pence would reject electoral votes from key swing states where Donald Trump had lost to Joe Biden, thereby altering the election outcome.
This newly revealed evidence could result in additional charges, especially for Kenneth Chesebro, who is already facing legal proceedings. Rep. Mike Kelly, who has previously denied any knowledge of fake elector lists within his office, may also face scrutiny.
