Trump Responds to Comey’s Controversial Social Media Post

During a recent visit to the Middle East, former President Donald Trump expressed his disapproval of ex-FBI Director James Comey’s social media activity in an interview with Bret Baeir. The focus was a picture of shells posted by Comey, which included the text “86 47.”

According to Trump, the implication of the message was unmistakable. “He knew exactly what that meant,” Trump stated, as per the interview excerpts released on Friday. “A child knows what that meant. If you’re the FBI director and you don’t know what that meant, that meant assassination.”

The number “86″ is defined by Merriam-Webster as slang for “to throw out,” “to get rid of,” or “to refuse service to.” Comey himself issued an apology, clarifying that the post was not intended as a call for violence.

While Trump refrained from suggesting any specific consequences for Comey, he did label him a “dirty cop.” He remarked, “And if he had a clean history, I could understand if there was a leniency, but I’m going to let them make that decision.”

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has confirmed that the Secret Service is currently investigating the matter.
